I just took my CPC exam Saturday and am waiting to hear the results. However, thanks to your CPC Blitz course and practice exams, I finished the test in 4 hrs 30 mins. I am considering obtaining my COC, but I don’t need the entire COC course since I just completed CPC training and don’t need the duplication. Would the COC Blitz be the way to go to bridge the COC knowledge I am missing or is there a better way to approach this with the training you offer? Any advice would be much appreciated. I would like to get the training through you folks – you’re great.

The COC Blitz provides an overview of the portions of the COC exam that differ from the CPC exam (mainly the 20 questions on payment methodology). The COC Blitz is intended as a final exam prep (much like the CPC Blitz) after a full course or experience in the field. The full COC course (our FBC) has 8 chapters more than the CPC course. Which one is best for you depends on your experience level, etc. If you have additional questions, please let us know.

Thank you, kindly, Chandra, for your reply and clarification. Is it possible for me to purchase just the “8” additional chapters in the COC course to narrow my focus on what I need to pass the COC exam? Do you folks have such a “bridge” offering?
I would also be very interested in purchasing COC practice exams as well. Are you by any chance in the process of developing some?

Thank you kindly, Carolyn-!! So glad to have that in the bag. Now, I'm working on passing the COC in September and next will be the CRC in December as a wrap up for this year, which I've dedicated to career transition. Hopefully, that'll be enough to get a foot in the door of the coding world. I've been a CMT/CHDS (Certified Medical Transcriptionist/Certified Healthcare Documentation Specialist) for the past 14 years and plan on working at least another 10 years, so I'm making the plunge and hoping for the best!

CCO charges $1195 for the COC course for former CCO physician based coding. I think the discount was more last year but sadly they had to raise prices this year (they actually forgot to update COC pricing when the price increase went if for some of the other courses.
PS contrats on passing. I finished most of the test except a few stumpers in under 4 hours and that was with taking breathers, fixing stray bubbles, etc. After spending an hour on 3-4 questions I gave up and guessed on them and walked out with 30 min to go.

Thanks for the info, Paul, and also congrats on passing your exam in such a short time - bravo, very impressive! Regarding a COC "bridge" type of course, I'm told that an accelerated FBC course is in the works, but is not quite ready yet. I really think that would be an invaluable offering and would perhaps encourage more folks to continue on with the COC after getting their CPC, since there is such a huge overlap. To me, it just makes good sense to do so in order to leverage all of the hard work and study already invested in getting the CPC. What I think I'd really like to do, however, is HCC/CRC work, so I've already signed up for the RA course through CCO, which will be available in its newest form on 6/30. I'm going to begin that after I've passed the COC exam. Best of luck to you!
